"I am very interested in becoming competent with chord melody guitar playing. Which of your DVDs and/or lessons will best prepare me for this technique and style?"
My guitar theory course doesn't teach much about specific techniques or styles such as chord melody for guitar. Instead I focus on teaching what chord shapes and scale patterns are most commonly used, how and why and their relationship to one another. This will come in handy because when playing guitar chord melody arrangements on the fretboard you need to know chords in all positions, various chord inversions and chord voicings plus be able to connect them with scale patterns. I recommend you follow the outline of my book Fretboard Theory because it covers everything. But if you want to focus on just one topic first, consider my DVD the CAGED Template Chord System. It'll change the way you finger and play chords plus show you how to cover the whole guitar fretboard.
