I am very interested to learn how to read standard music notation from scratch. Does your guitar course teach sight reading?

Good question. No, my guitar theory course does not teach how to read standard notation. Rather, my materials focus on mapping out the fret board and learning scale patterns, chord shapes and chord progressions. Also, you'll learn how these musical elements relate to each and apply to popular songs.

If note-reading is your goal, then you'll need to get a program that focuses on the staff lines and notes like:

Mel Bay's Modern Guitar Method

Hal Leonard Guitar Method
http://www.halleonard.com/featureResult ... GuitarBass

There are many other methods available similar to these. I'm sure there are even online courses that teach the same thing. You'll just have to search for them. Try terms like "sight read guitar" or "standard music notation guitar."
